“Um, Mom, I’m not so sure about the lady with the green lipstick. Are you sure she won’t mess me up?” Stan asked. I had taken him to get a make-over by the professional stylist. He wasn’t happy about it from the start, and the green lipstick really freaked him out.

“Oh!! That wasn’t so bad,” he said after it was done.

“Mom knows best,” I reminded him.

After the make-over he invited one of his friends to the stadium for a late night concert. He forgot all about his friend when he saw a beautiful girl standing at the gate. Her name was Saffron Willow.

“You waiting on someone?” Saffron asked.

“No. Well just a friend,” Stan replied.

They stood there talking for hours. I had to call him around 10pm to remind him of his curfew. Much to my surprise, he brought Saffron home with him.

After a movie at home, he finally kissed her good night around dawn. My little boy had fallen in love in those few hours with Saffron, and I prayed she wouldn’t break his heart.

Birthdays were celebrated around the pool. The summer was turning out to be very hot, so family parties outside had to be spent in the pool or sprinkler.

Katelynn was growing up way too fast. She turned 13 and I cried. I couldn’t believe my special Kate was growing up. She started high school that Monday.

I was furious with Emerson. He didn’t even bother to come outside and watch his little sister’s birthday party. I went off to find him, and found him with Saffron’s sister, Amber. Those girls were starting to get on my nerves.

Even Stan was too busy to watch his sister grow up. Aren reminded me that they were teenage boys and were being completely normal.

Katelynn was a beautiful teenager. I knew she would go far in life.

Brianna planned on being on one of the sports teams when she got into highschool, and she began at 10  years old working out hard to achieve her goals.

Katelynn was still working hard to build her logic skills. She had secret plans, but we just didn’t know what they would be yet.

I didn’t think anything of it when Aren started complaining of chest pain. I blamed it on the spaghetti and sent him to bed with a few Tums. Later in the night I heard a crash. I felt for Aren, but he was gone.  I rushed down the stairs to find him clutching his chest and staggering about. The boys had awaken too and I screamed for them to call an ambulance. It all happened too fast and he collapsed. He had a massive heart attack, and if I had of seen the signs, I may have saved him. I was guilty and very upset.

The kids were heart-broken. We all just didn’t understand. He was 70 years old, but it felt like he was years younger. The kids tried to convince me that it wasn’t my fault, but it was no use. I slipped off into another round of depression. I hadn’t felt this bad and sad in years.

Brianna becoming a teen only made matters worse. I had no more babies. All of my children were now teenagers. Well, Emmie was about to graduate high school, but that didn’t help any.

Then there was the fact that I was about to turn 50, and that broke my heart more. My life was falling apart.

My girls talked me in for a makeover and I was pleasantly surprised that I didn’t’ look half bad. In fact, I looked about the same. I could handle that.

Katelynn had got on the chess club in highschool, and had made friends but she wanted something more. She wanted a boyfriend. A make-over is what she needed, so we all piled up and headed to the salon while the boys were fishing.

She hated the dress, but I told her she was beautiful.

Stan was sad to see that Saffron had graduated before him and was now 20 years old. She told him to find her when he graduated.

Other than girls, Stan liked chess too, and he played with Katelynn. They had fierce tournaments in our living room. I was so proud of them. I had begun to paint again, and the depression was wearing off.

I knew it was about time to choose my heir, and I wasn’t looking forward to choosing. I only had a few more years to decide.

We have one more chapter and then an heir poll, so be deciding who your favorite is.

Don’t forget to vote for heir over on my Berry Flowery Legacy. The poll will be closing shortly.
