Well, Mom and Dad chose me, Stanley, to carry on the family. The firefighter married to a self-centered, absent-minded women that hates kids. I’m happy about getting the honor, but Saffron isn’t exactly thrilled. Just months after we returned from our vacation, we found out Saffron was pregnant. In most legacies this was wonderful news, but Saffron wasn’t exactly happy about the situation. I knew that my job as a father and husband would be more difficult than most. I don’t regret marrying Saffron, but she has a lot to learn.

Mom tried her hardest to teach Saffron to cook. She had a lot of patience with her, even though Saffron was very easily distracted.

“You have to the cut up the veggies finely, or they’ll take a lot longer to cook. Saffron are you paying attention to me?”

“Oh yeh, sorry. I thought I saw a kitty cat outside.”

“Honey, there is no such thing as cats. You only see them and dancing bunnies on TVs. We don’t have animals here.”

Yup, this generation is going to be fun for sure.

Not only did Saffron learn to cook, she learned to enjoy cooking as well. Mom and her developed a very close relationship and they were inseparable.  Saffron even started showing a little excitement about becoming a mother.

The months flew by, with me building up my career and Saffron growing a baby and learning to cook and clean. It was a surprise the night Saffron went into labor.

Zachary was born that night. A beautiful little boy who loved to sleep. He slept day and night and woke up only to eat. He never cried. We had given birth to an angel. Saffron was a nervous wreck and cried more than Zach did.

“Hey Stan. I missed you today. Come look what I cooked for dinner,” Saffron greeted me this way every single day and I loved her excitement and eagerness to please me.

The house had become crowed when Zach was born. We still had my two sisters living with us and when Kate married her foreign boyfriend my youngest sister moved in with them. The house seemed a lot emptier after they moved out. I knew that I wanted to have another child soon.

It took some coaching, but soon Saffron got comfortable with Zach and we were able to leave her home alone with him without fear. She didn’t have a lot to do with him, but she at least took care of him and met his needs.

“Stan, I need to talk to you,” Saffron greeted me after work on Zach’s 1st birthday.

“What’s wrong honey?”

“I missed my cycle and I threw up this morning. Your mom bought me a home pregnancy test and it was positive.”

“That’s amazing news, honey. I can’t wait. Maybe it’ll be a girl.” I was super happy. We got pregnant without even planning on another child.

“How can you be so calm? I’m totally freaking out. I’m gonna get fat again, and how can I take care of two kids. I don’t even like kids.”

I finally calmed her down and after a few months she accepted the fact, but she wasn’t happy about it.

Zach’s party went great. He is such a handsome toddler. He is very smart, but still loves to sleep more than play. The doctors promise this is normal even for his age.

I had been working for Sunset Valley’s fire department for a good 2 years and had moved up the ladder at a very fast rate. I was offered a job that I couldn’t refuse. I was going to be the fire chief at Twinbrooks’ fire department. After a talk with Saffron and Mom we decided that we would all move to Twinbrooks and start our lives over there. I called a contractor and sent him some house plans and a house was built for us and we moved in during Saffron’s 7th month of pregnancy.

Saffron found the Salon the first day and went to talk to the manager for a stylist job. They insisted she take some classes with them and build up her portfolio, but they would hire her after she had the baby.

The labor of our second child went smoothly and soon we brought home our second child.

Find out next time if we had a boy, girl, twins, or triplets.

More excitement to come. Saffron is an amazing character to play.

Enjoy,

K
